THE MURAL BUILDING

The Wintrust Mural building has become a showcase for non-profits in Chicago to display their artwork, and this May, the Metropolitan Asian Family Services (MAFS) will be honored to showcase their artwork. The inspiration for this beautiful mural is the rich and diverse communities that keep Chicago going and growing.

As a multi-cultural and multi-ethnic organization, MAFS is committed to educating, assisting, and empowering the immigrant community to adjust to life in the United States and become productive members of society instead of dependent on government aid. Through their various programs, MAFS touches the lives of Illinois’ most in-need immigrant communities, including Congregate Meals, Golden Diners, Public Benefits, Low Income Home Energy Assistance, Adult English Literacy, Obamacare Assistance, Senior Counseling, Immigration and Citizenship Assistance, Translation and Interpretation, Computer Literacy and Transportation.

Their mural depicts a group of people holding hands in front of Chicago’s skyline and Little India on the Northside, incorporating Asian cultural themes as May is Asian Heritage Month. This beautiful mural serves as a reminder of the importance of community and the diversity that makes Chicago so special. It is a tribute to the hard work and dedication of the MAFS team, who have been providing.
