Every January 26 we celebrate this important event – REPUBLIC DAY! Here is a little history of the event. While India gained independence from British Rule in 1947, it wasn’t until January 26, 1950, that the Indian Constitution came into effect, and India became a sovereign state, declaring it a Republic.
Seniors participated in this celebration with much vigor. They elevated the spirit of the occasion by wearing clothes that denoted India’s national tricolor flag. Unbelievable decorations were adorned throughout our locations showing the immense admiration for their birth country. The noteworthy decorations were done by our talented staff and seniors namely Mr. Bharatkumar Soni – Niles, Schaumburg, Naperville, and Vernon Hills seniors and staff. The seniors enacted their patriotic skits and dances. Along with the staff, they hoisted the national flag and then paraded waving the flag, shouting slogans, and singing songs in praise of their motherland. It was truly soul-stirring to see this kind of fervor and zeal amongst the seniors which portrayed their immense love for their birthplace, India!
Seniors and staff celebrated this important event and kept up to the words of Mahatma Gandhiji by showing their patriotic abilities and heart-felt love for their country!
“A nation’s culture resides in the hearts and in the souls of its people,” – Mahatma Gandhi.”
